President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Memorial Square in the early morning of August 31 and took part in the ceremony to commemorate victims of repression.

At this ceremony, the Quran was recited and prayed for the ones who died for freedom of our people. Traditionally, the pilaf was served to the people.

In front of the symbolic tomb in the alley, there was a dialogue with the old men, scribes and intellectuals.

It was noted that a great attention is paid to the study of the life and legacy of our devoted and patriotic ancestors and to perpetuate his memory. The importance of peace, freedom and abundance in our country, the aspiration for development of all spheres, the education of young people as educated and patriotic people was emphasized.
